Same Day Crowns

How It Works

Complete Your CEREC Crown In Just One Visit

Traditional crowns typically require two or three appointments spread across several weeks, along with the inconvenience of wearing a temporary crown in between. At Hallmark Dental, our CEREC same day crown technology eliminates the wait, the temporaries, and the multiple visits.

Here's what you can expect when you choose Hallmark Dental for your CEREC same day crown:

The CEREC Process

Initial Consultation

Evaluating Your Tooth
Your first visit begins with a thorough examination of the tooth needing restoration. Our doctor will use advanced digital imaging to assess the structure, identify any underlying concerns, and confirm that a CEREC same day crown is the right solution for you. We'll discuss your treatment options, walk you through the process, and answer any questions you may have. If you're ready to proceed, we can often begin your CEREC same day crown procedure during this same appointment.
STEP 1
STEP 2

Tooth Preparation

Preparing The Foundation
Once you're comfortable and numb with local anesthesia, our doctor will gently remove any decay or damaged tooth structure and shape the tooth to receive your new crown. This step is essential to ensure a secure, lasting bond between your tooth and the restoration. The preparation typically takes less than an hour, and we'll keep you comfortable throughout the entire process.

Digital Impression

Capturing Your Smile In 3D
Instead of traditional putty impressions, we use the CEREC handheld scanner to capture a highly detailed 3D image of your prepared tooth and surrounding teeth. This digital scan is quick, comfortable, and far more accurate than conventional methods. The scan is sent directly to our in-office CEREC design software, where your crown will be custom-designed.
STEP 3
STEP 4

Custom Crown Design

Designing Your Perfect Fit
Using advanced CEREC CAD software, our doctor will design your crown with precision; selecting the exact shape, size, and shade to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth. You'll have the opportunity to preview the design and request any adjustments before fabrication begins. This collaborative approach ensures the final result matches your expectations.

In-House CEREC Milling

Crafting Your Crown On-Site
Once the design is approved, your crown is milled from a solid block of high-quality ceramic right here in our office using our CEREC milling unit. The milling process typically takes 15 to 20 minutes, during which you can relax in our comfortable lounge, browse on your phone, or enjoy a beverage. There's no need to leave the office or come back another day.
STEP 5
STEP 6

Final Placement

Bonding Your New Crown
After your crown is polished to a beautiful, natural finish, our doctor will check the fit and bite to ensure everything feels perfect. Once approved, the crown is bonded securely into place using durable dental cement. You'll leave with a fully restored, functional tooth — no temporaries, no second visit, no waiting.

Follow-Up Check

Ensuring Long-Term Success
We recommend a brief follow-up visit a few weeks after your CEREC same day crown placement to confirm everything is healing well and functioning properly. Our doctor will check the bite, polish the crown if needed, and provide guidance on how to care for your new restoration to maximize its lifespan.
